contrasts (color)
When working with color there are four contrasts that are very good to be able to identify and thus manipulate. These are: value, color, intensity/saturation and temperature. Each color will have properties of each contrast that will create a very specific contrasting relationship with another color. Higher contrasts tend to be characteristic of the foreground and lower contrasts or less contrasts are characteristic of things and space that goes back in the picture plane.
